| A Travel to Kerala is an experience of some of the world’s finest beaches. Kerala offers some of the finest beaches in India. The entire length of the Kerala coast is lined with sandy beaches, rocky promontories and coconut palms. The Thangasseri Beach in the Kollam district is a seaside village of historic importance. It has the ruins of an old Portugese fort and churches built in the 18th century. The Thangasseri lighthouse is open to visitors from 1530 – 1730 hours. Kollam is also home to the Thirumullavaram Beach. This secluded beach is a beautiful picnic center and has frequent bus connections to the town. Alappuzha Beach is one of the most popular picnic spots in Alappuzha. The pier, which extends into the sea here, is about 140 years old. The beach is crowded on weekends and on all holidays. Another must-see during a Travel to Kerala is the Cherai beach. The Cherai Beach in Kochi is a lovely beach bordering Vypeen Island. It is an ideal place for swimming. Dolphins are occasionally spotted here. A typical Keralite village with paddy fields and coconut groves nearby is an added attraction. A stroll through the lanes of the city is the best way to discover the historic Fort Kochi and its beach. An obscure fishing village that became the first European township in India, Kochi has an eventful and colorful history. The town was shaped by the Portuguese, the Dutch and later, the British. The result of these cultural interferences are seen in the remains of the Indo European architecture here. | |
